Internet based Distance Education in Mongolia: The IDRC, Canada funded project on Distance Education is started in January of 2001. The project provides experimental web-based and computer-based instructional courses in subject areas that are deemed by the project stakeholders as most needed by the Mongolian society. Several interdisciplinary teams created to develop and deliver courses in areas such as English Language, IT and computer skills, gender issues, mathematic and legal rights. InfoCon Co., Ltd acted as a coordinating agency among the stakeholders’ organizations and responsible for the overall management, IT solutions of the Distance Education in Mongolia project.
